Recent Reading

  • Searching for God Knows What by Donald Miller. I was at a Sara Groves concert a few months ago and Donald Miller did some reading from a couple of his books. I was completely sold. I went out and bought this book. I can honestly say I was sad at the end because I wanted there to be more!
  • Engaging God’s World: A Christian Vision of Faith, Learning and Living by Cornelius Plantinga Jr.. This was a text book of mine for a Worldviews class last semester. Plantinga goes into depth about Creation, The Fall and Redemption. It is very meaty if you are feeling malnourished. I love it when required reading turns into a huge blessing.
  • Journal of the Unknown Prophet by Wendy Alec. I bought this book because I was intrigued by the title and impressed by the endorsements. I was surprised at the impact it has had in my life. As I began reading, I could hear and feel the heart of Jesus in every word.

Favorite Music

  • John Mark McMillan – The Song Inside the Sounds of Breaking Down
Hmmm, if I had to have a favorite CD right now, this is it. It’s aggressive in music and in thought and perhaps, the most real display of living the Christian life, at least in the music world.
  • Sara Groves – Add to the Beauty
I think I know what to expect when I buy her albums, but she always surprises me with her ability to put complicated ideas into understandable, beautiful songs.
  • David Crowder – Beautiful Collision
Charlie Hall – Flying into Daybreak
I love buying worship CD’s that exceed the conventional methods of worship writing. These two fellas have done that with their latest albums.
